I loved that Post-it note, and I hate to sound like P.T. Barnum, but if you make an MDQ t-shirt , I’d like mine to have this glasses element of yours you draw 💋
ooooo, LOVE this idea @Tess McCarthy. the glasses diddly is my personal favorite of the MDQ lineup. and the pink whale. maybe 2025 is when I actually start my MDQ merch line…
Both! Both! Both! I’m seeing this a reality ((if you want)) but on my end I see it 😅happening for me and on my body. When the timing is right for you.
I’ll trade! I made “Mugger Fugger” — don’t know if you’re one. I’m still working on the design …this is on Tee Republic in the Visual Liquid store that I will connect to my VL stack.
.
((Not to sound like PT Barnum again, but in the spirit of support and encouragement: I’d totally link to your merch if you like reciprocal links!))
I am not sure how Anthony Hurd did not cross into my sphere until this week (since apparently i know several folks with his art hanging in their houses) but I just found him and when I saw I sat scrolling his website with tears rolling down my cheeks at the sheer life giving necessity of seeing queer love and queer joy captured the way he does, I am not even slightly exaggerating. I was utterly undone by it (and also have him noted for my next little roundup).
I'm so glad I stumbled across your work as well and am excited to follow another queer voice on this space. Someone else to look up, if you don't already is Stephanie Greene. She writes about so much beyond queerness, but when she does write queerness, she does so with so much magic and exquisite compassion.
"utterly undone" is EXACTLY the way to describe the impact of Anthony's work. I am so so glad you understand the magic of what he creates. this is the queer joy and queer love exultation that we need right now (and forever).
I can't wait to connect with Stephanie's work! thank you so much for the recommendation. I am hungry for all of our voices. especially the ones that hold magic and compassion.
I have added so many subscriptions while clicking these links and am beyond honored to be included in this company 💜 Kate, you add so much love to substack; well-done (and -doing), you!!
